Discover Salcombe
Located on the southernmost tip of Devon, the unique little town of Salcombe draws a loyal host of families who return year after year. With its vibrant summer life Salcombe is a bustling happy town during peak season. Sailing boats pepper the water and families enjoy the beautiful sandy beaches that can be reached by a short ferry ride across the busy harbour. Throughout the warm summer months there are always children jumping in and out of the water or catching crabs with a line and a tasty treat for the lucky crustacean. Out of season it’s laid back feel and local atmosphere returns and the town slips back into its local vibe. The harbour empties of boats and the waves are given free rein to crash into the harbour walls as the winter storms take hold.
The location of the town is ideal for exploring the very special South West Coast Path with its rugged terrain, secret coves and possible wreck spotting. For more adventurous types there are opportunities to go water skiing, power boating, surfing, paddle board, coasteering or kayaking, the possibilities for adrenaline junkies are endless! However, if retail therapy and sampling gastronomic delights are more your thing, then Salcombe’s town centre is full of gorgeous shops and our pubs and restaurants serve delicious fresh fish landed daily on the quayside and other local produce. A fresh local Salcombe crab sandwich is always a treat.
