Loved the cottage - great because there were only 3 of us and a small dog. Bathrooms beautiful and clean. Location perfect such a short walk to the pubs,bakery and shops. Love Salcombe.

The location and space in this cottage was perfect for a family of 4 and a large dog. Although it was a little tired and scuffed in places it didn’t detract from the bonuses of the property. Having read some reviews before we went, I thought comments about the mismatched crockery were a bit picky but it was actually a bit frustrating. If the house was at capacity of 7 it would be a problem. Glassware was also very limited. This could be easily and cheaply rectified. We would definitely consider booking this property again.

Lovely house in the centre of town, the 4 story layout works well with a group of people. We were lucky with the weather, so having the kitchen opening into the garden was wonderful. Would definitely book again

A fantastic house in a great position

Overall this cottage was good and provided good accommodation for adults and a dog. It is very close to the main amenities of Salcombe (the Main Street in about 100 yds away). It is however quite tired and whilst the bathrooms and kitchen were clean the rest of the house was quite dusty / grubby. There was a thick layer of dust on the fire place hearth and there were lots of cobwebs.. The kitchen was a good size and had all the basic equipment but the cupboards were full of all sorts of odd and mis matching crockery, cookware and cutlery. This was fine for a couple but a family might struggle to find all the same crockery / cutlery. The blinds in the living room were stuck some way up the window and they could not be closed properly, enabling passers by to look into the living area. One bed had broken slats which meant the mattress was uneven.. on closer inspection an attempt to fix these with plastic ties had been unsuccessfully made in the past. The garden area was a good size for the location and was fairly well kept (apart from bags of building rubble / cement at the bottom of the garden), but the garden furniture cushions were extremely dirty and couldn’t be used. The sunshade / small marquee structure was also very dirty The main top floor en-suite bedroom had fantastic views of Salcombe harbour / The Estuary but access to it was via a very narrow steep winding staircase which might not suit all visitors The bathrooms were good and the showers always had lots of hot good flowing water. In summary it’s a good family cottage in a great location but was let down somewhat by being quite tired and grubby, and some equipment (especially in the kitchen) could do with updating / replacing / adding to.
